Whytec has technically managed all aspects of IT at this site after being referred by an existing client. Our initial task was to make the Dallas Burston IT facility independent of a neighbouring company. This was achieved by introducing a Small Business Server to manage file sharing, email and a separate network domain. Independent internet access was introduced and the network secured. Initially VPN services were introduced to allow a small sales force access shared resources. This was changed later to use Outlook anywhere and also RPC over HTTP services.
Shortly after the initial network installation we were asked to provide a dedicated Contact management system called DB Contax. This was supplied and used for the duration of the required project.
Some seven years later and following an office relocation, IT hardware/software upgrade and a significant increase in users Whytec is proud to continue providing IT consultancy, services and support to Dallas Burston.
There is no onsite technical presence and so the client requires Whytec to take full responsibility for all IT assets and services on site. We also manage some 50 or more domain names and some web hosting for this client. The proprietor is an entrepreneurial type with dynamic business interests.
